Wedding Mark works on destination weddings across Europe — primarily in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Italy and France, and with couples from the United States planning celebrations in Europe.

Every project is shaped by the place. The light, the architecture, the atmosphere of the venue, the season — all of these influence the visual direction and the materials we choose. A celebration in Mallorca in July calls for different decisions than one in Munich in December.

Below is an overview of the destinations we work in most frequently.

Spain — Mallorca and beyond

La Fortaleza in Mallorca, where Paula and Timo celebrated across two days, set the tone for how we approach Spanish destination weddings. The warmth of the stone, the outdoor terraces, the natural materials that suit the climate shaped every decision in that project, from the cotton paper to the walnut stands.

Spain offers a range of settings, from the historic fortresses of Mallorca to the architectural elegance of mainland venues. In each case, the stationery is designed to belong to the setting, not to impose a direction onto it.

We work with planners based in Spain and with international planners bringing couples to Spanish destinations.

Portugal — Ericeira and the Atlantic coast

Nina and Julian celebrated for three days at Aethos Ericeira — a venue shaped by the cliffs, the ocean and the architecture of the Ericeira coast. The natural surroundings defined the visual direction from the beginning: cotton fabric, linen, natural materials, a palette drawn from the landscape.

Portugal has a distinct quality of light and a design culture that values craft and natural materials. These align closely with the Wedding Mark approach — and make Portuguese destinations particularly well-suited to the kind of stationery we create.

We work with planners based in Portugal and with international teams bringing celebrations to the Lisbon region, the Alentejo and the Atlantic coast.

Germany — Munich, Berlin and beyond

Germany offers a wide range of settings, from the cultural gravity of Munich's institutions to the industrial aesthetic of Berlin. Both cities have a strong visual culture and a sophisticated clientele who tend to know exactly what they want. The stationery needs to match that clarity.

Wedding Mark was based in Berlin for almost eight years. That time shaped the studio's approach to typography, proportion and restraint, qualities that continue to influence every project.

We have worked on celebrations across Germany, each with its own character.

Austria — Vienna and beyond

Vienna has a specific relationship with ceremony and formality that shapes every aspect of a celebration — including the stationery. The Viennese tradition of craft and print culture means that couples and planners in Austria tend to have a sophisticated understanding of materials and techniques. Embossing, letterpress and fine paper are not extraordinary here — they are expected.

We worked with Isabel Merfort on the visual identity for an intimate birthday celebration in Vienna — a milestone marking seventy years, celebrated with close family and friends over several carefully planned days. The programme was designed to reveal the city gradually, with each element of the identity reflecting the elegance and intention behind the occasion.

We work with planners and couples planning celebrations in Vienna and in the surrounding Austrian countryside.

Italy — Lake Como, Tuscany, Apulia and beyond

Italy offers some of the most visually distinctive settings in Europe — from the neoclassical architecture of Lake Como to the warm stone of Tuscan farmhouses and the whitewashed geometry of Apulia. Each region has its own visual logic, and the stationery needs to follow that logic rather than impose a different one.

In summer, the light in southern Italy is direct and warm. Materials that might look cool in a Berlin studio read entirely differently against the Apulian landscape. We consider these conditions from the beginning of every project.

We have worked on celebrations across different parts of Italy, each with its own character. Laura and Andreas married at Tenuta Bichi Borghesi in Siena, a historic farmhouse with a long cypress driveway and a former horse stable that became the setting for their candlelit dinner. The identity followed the aesthetic of the place: restrained, warm, with nothing that competed with the surroundings.

On the Amalfi Coast, Sam and Florian, an international couple from the US and Berlin, celebrated a four-day wedding week in Ravello. From a welcome dinner in the village square to a ceremony at a historic villa overlooking the Mediterranean, the celebration asked for an identity that could hold across several days and several different atmospheres. That kind of project, multi-day, destination, internationally planned, is where the visual identity does its most important work.

We work with planners and couples planning celebrations across Italy, in Tuscany, on the Amalfi Coast and beyond.

Working with American couples in Europe

We also work with couples based in the United States who are planning celebrations in Europe. The approach is the same — the stationery is designed around the venue, the season and the visual direction of the celebration. The difference is often in the timing and the logistics: American couples planning European weddings typically work with a longer lead time and coordinate more intensively with their planner.

We are experienced in this process and work closely with planners on both sides of the collaboration.
